An affiliate
program is one that can make money for you with little or no effort on your
part. The way it works is you sign up for an affiliate account on one of the
money making sites. After you sign up, you get an affiliate code assigned to
you. You also get a coded link with your affiliate code in it. All you do is
copy and paste this link into your HTML code on your site. When someone clicks
on the link on your site, they are taken to the money site with your affiliate
code. If they make a purchase at that site, you get paid a commission for
leading them there. You really can’t go wrong with this program because it
takes no effort on your part to make money. All you have to do is get people to
visit your site and click on your affiliate links.
If you choose
to create an affiliate web site, don’t overload it with a lot of links. Start
out with just a few sites that are related to the theme of your own site. Write
a colorful paragraph with your links in it describing each site you’re
affiliated with or use pictures related to the links and add a description of
the products or services connected to the links using your own ideas and
thoughts. Give your opinion about the products related to each particular link.
Show that you really know and trust these products and services.
There are many
affiliate programs available on the Internet. Almost anyone who has something to
sell online has an affiliate program. Look around at all the money making web
sites and you’ll see what I mean. Read their sites carefully so you can become
acquainted with their products. Maybe even buy something so you can be sure of
the quality of their products. It is much easier to sell a product if you have
experienced it and really believe in it.
One place you
may want to look at that has an almost unlimited listing of affiliate sites is Click
bank. Sign up for an affiliate account and you’ll have access to about
100,000 affiliates who have products for sale or will help you sell your own
products. The next chapter covers Click bank pretty extensively.
You’ll need a
merchant site to collect credit card payments and online checks for you and
Click bank is a good one. Another excellent merchant site that collects all your
online payments is Paypal. Chapter 8 will explain how Paypal works and how to
get setup there. You can sign up for several merchant accounts but I would
recommend not signing up for too many. These two are the most commonly used and
are dependable. If you choose another, be sure that you know what you are
getting into before you sign up.
